So…uh…wanna dance?
After an incredible season, yesterday Zack Greinke became the first pitcher with social anxiety disorder to win a Cy Young. While it’s amazing to think about what he’s overcome to get where he is today, and it’s no easy task to overcome SAD, let’s keep things in perspective — he’s not the only player struggling with this disorder. From Khalil Greene to Joey Votto, social anxiety disorder has become a problem around the league. And let’s not forget, Dontrelle Willis has similar issues and he’s also got a ring. (Fine, low blow — we’re talking about the Royals)

Back off, Damon, or else I’m coming inside next time…
But as we were thinking about Greinke’s season, and how nasty he was despite the Royals desperate attempt to hold him down, we started wondering: is this really his greatest achievement? Sure, pitching in the bigs with SAD is no walk in the park. But it can’t be any easier than talking to girls…especially attractive ones.
However, despite his disorder, Greinke has landed Miss Daytona Beach, Emily Kuchar, who he’ll be getting married to this weekend. Now that’s what we call talent.
To understand just how tough it is to interact with an attractive member of the opposite sex when you’re, well, awkward, we thought we’d take a cue from another socially inept ZG: Zach Galifianakis.
