“Everyone Deserves a Second Chance” by Dr. Gerard Leavenworth

I’ll never forgive myself…
December 3rd, 1982. It was a cold day in the city of Brotherly Love, with blustering winds and frozen rain falling from the sky. It was also the state championship game between the Lakeshore Wildcats and Madison High.
Lakeshore was down by 5, but they were driving deep into Madison’s territory, with only a few ticks on the clock. It was then that a young wide out named “Gerry” Leavenworth learned the importance of soft hands. As time expired, the ball flew threw the air to a wide open Leavenworth in the corner of the endzone. But the pressure was too much, the rain was too intense, and the weather too cold.
I dropped the pass.
I’d do anything to go back to that day — I learned my lesson, and “Gerry” Leavenworth doesn’t make the same mistake twice. But unfortunately, I’ll never get that opportunity.
