“It’s the System, Stupid” by Dr. Gerard Leavenworth

Having just begun the second half of the NFL season, one thing has become abundantly clear: more than anything, the success of a team depends on quarterback play.

Like me, Donovan McNabb has been having a respectable year. So how come the Green Machine sits at the bottom of the NFC East? Look no further than the fattest walrus in Pennsylvania , Andy Reid.

In my rookie season at Presbyterian, my nurses fumbled four babies and we had a very tough time in the “red zone .” I was working in a broken system – the administrator’s play calling was so predictable we never had a chance.

Along these lines, Andy Reid is not giving #5 the opportunity to succeed. I don’t know if he was choking on a chicken wing during the final minutes of last Sunday night’s debacle vs. the G-men, but whatever happened to the reliable QB sneak, or the old play action pass? How can Donovan be expected to lead a team if Reid doesn’t trust him in short yardage situations?

Something’s gotta give here in the City of Brotherly Love, and it’s not Donovan McNabb. It’s the system, and Andy Reid’s gotta go .
