I was caught off guard this morning when I heard that former NBA player Corie Blount was sentenced to a year in jail after police intercepted 11 pounds of marijuana being sent to him. I’d heard about the whole ordeal a while back, but the news that police also stumbled across another 18 pounds stashed away in his closet got my attention.

Judge Craig Hedric rejected Blount’s claim that the marijuana was intended for personal use and to share with friends.
“Cheech and Chong would have had a hard time smoking that much,” Hedric told Blount.
