The GSF visits Lagasse’s Stadium
Las Vegas is known as “The Entertainment Capital of the World,” and if you’ve ever graced the Strip, you know that there’s no shortage of good eats, great bars, and swanky nightclubs. But when it comes to finding the best place to watch a ballgame in Sin City, the list begins and ends with Lagasse’s Stadium at the Palazzo.
While we were attending Blogs with Balls this past weekend, we were lucky enough to get the hookup for some top notch seats at world-renowned chef Emeril Lagasse’s newest restaurant for game 1 of the ALCS. And as self professed chicken wing connoisseurs, take it from us, this place has it down to a science.

The tiered stadium seating, seen from the front of the room.
As soon as you take your seat, it’s clear that you’re in for a treat. The main room has tiered stadium seating, and each party has its own couch to relax on. It’s a little like being in your living room…except your living room probably doesn’t have a 10 by 20 foot hi-definition projection TV. And if it does, it’s probably not flanked by numerous other big screens showing every other possible game going on in the world of sports, even Cricket and Professional Bowling.
If you’ve somehow got that going on in your living room, we envy you. But you almost certainly don’t have a sports book at the front of the room, so that you can simultaneously sip a beer, look up at the big-screen, and place a bet on who’s going to hit the first home run of the game. It’s a little like being in heaven, if God was an oddsmaker, and Mother Mary brought you a new beer every 2nd inning.
Not only is the viewing experience top notch, but the atmosphere couldn’t have been better. There was a solid mix of Angels and Yankees fans, and, most likely because the room is actually laid out like a stadium, the crowd was alive throughout the game. You had fans on their feet when the count went full, playful taunting between the opposition, and a general “big game vibe” that you can usually only find at the stadium itself.
But this is Emeril’s restaurant we’re talking about here, so we can’t forget the most important part: the food. Not surprisingly, it’s excellent. As chicken wings are the litmus test of any sports bar’s cuisine, we sampled those first, but quickly moved on to the signature Cajun Reuben — which was, by far, the best thing we ate all weekend. Spicy, meaty goodness that paired perfectly with an ice cold draft.
While we’d normally abide by the slogan of “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” we couldn’t keep this one to ourselves. As for the Korean triplets we found sleeping on our hotel room floor the next morning…well, that’s a story for another time.
